Membership
- Membership dues make a significant contribution to our club as they fund trail maintenance, provide land access and provide support for the New York State Snowmobile Association (NYSSA). NYSSA acts as a unified voice for snowmobilers, helping to protect the sport we love, defend against discriminatory legislation and the work with various State agencies.
Your membership benefits include reduced snowmobile DMV registration fees and a social network with others who enjoy snowmobiling. By joining the Summit SnoRiders, you will receive a voucher so that your snowmobile registration will be reduced. For the 2025-2026 season, full snowmobile registration is $135, with a club membership voucher the registration fee is $65. Membership cost is $30, whether it is for an individual or for a family membership.
There are two ways to join or renew your membership. The preferred method is online using the NYSSA website at www.nysnomobiler.com. When you click the link, it will redirect you to the NYSSA website. Locate and click on the Membership tab. Select Join or Renew a Club Membership. Create an account or enter your login information. Enter all required information and be sure to select our club, Summit SnoRiders. After your payment has been processed, be sure to save/print your voucher. You must print a separate voucher for each snowmobile you will be registering.
If you do not want to join or renew your membership online, you may apply directly to the Summit SnoRiders. Mail your completed application with a check in the amount of $30 made payable to the Summit SnoRiders to the Membership Coordinator whose contact information is below. Applications will be processed once a week, and your voucher will be mailed to you. Please allow a reasonable amount of time to have your voucher returned to you.
Note: When you are registering or joining a club using either the NYSSA online process or mailing your completed application directly to the Summit Sno Riders, make sure you are using the same full name and address on your NYSSA membership as you are when you do your DMV registration (example: “Joe” on the NYSSA membership vs. “Joseph” at DMV is not a match and will not be acceptable by DMV). New members must create an account with NYSSA before registering their snowmobile with DMV. If you are going in person to a DMV office, you will need a printed voucher for EVERY snowmobile you intend to register. If you have joined a club as a family, you need to list the number of snowmobiles you are registering with DMV and print a voucher form the NYSSA website for every snowmobile you register. Example: Joe joined Summit SnoRiders as a family planning to register three snowmobiles, he must print three vouchers from the NYSSA website and bring them to DMV when he registers the snowmobiles. It is also important, if applicable, that you add all family members who will be included with your family registration. You are limited to one spouse or partner and all children under the age of 18 that will be registering and/or a primary rider during the upcoming season.
Clubs are NOT permitted to send out blank vouchers; all vouchers must be printed with a valid NYSSA ID number on them.
Please make certain that your e-mail address is correct and up to date on your NYSSA membership. If you do not have an email account, please check the box indicating this on the application.
